A working writer's library
This is the whole body of work, everything Bret Legg has written, taught, and recorded from his desk in Augusta, GA, gathered in one searchable place: all 220 of his "2-Minute Truths" on video, the "Quick Counsel" podcast, his books and essays, full teaching courses, and the tools he trusts. Every video and message has been transcribed word for word, so you can say what you are facing in plain language and be taken to the exact moment it is spoken to.
TRICK
How Your Problems Trick You and 5 Ways to Trick Them Back.
Three decades in the counseling room, distilled into one book. Bret names the quiet way our problems trick us, then hands us five practical, hard-won ways to trick them back. If a 2-Minute Truth is a single sip, TRICK is the long, honest conversation, the one place to start.
New writing, most weeks
Between books, the writing never stops. Bret has published more than six hundred essays, short, honest reflections on marriage, family, faith, and the long road of becoming whole, and adds new ones all the time. It's the closest thing to pulling up a chair at his desk.

Say what you’re facing
Every video, essay, course and message Bret and David have recorded, searched all the way through the words they actually said. Ask it plainly. “I’m lonely”, “my marriage is falling apart”, “I can’t forgive my dad’’, and it will take you to the exact moment they talk about it.
2-Minute Truths
Short, honest encouragements you can actually use today, one clear truth for your marriage, your family, or your walk with God, in about the time it takes to pour a cup of coffee.
The 2-Minute Truths are Bret's book-by-book walk through Scripture, a short, practical truth drawn from each chapter, written and filmed one at a time. From "We All Have a Little Something In Us" to "Why Would Someone Do That?!", each takes an ancient story and hands you something you can use before your coffee cools. All 220 live in the library above, and every one of them has been transcribed, so you can search what Bret actually said and open the video at the moment he says it.
Quick Counsel Podcast
"I'm a pastoral counselor with a Master's Degree in Marriage and Family Counseling, a Master's Degree in Religious Education, and more than 30 years of experience in helping people. My goal with this podcast is to help people who might not ever go to counseling understand concepts and issues that could improve their life. Please know, this podcast is not a substitute for professional counseling or therapy."
With more than 200 episodes, Quick Counsel is short enough for a commute or a walk and grounded enough to stay with you long after.
